The Gailes Hotel is located in Gailes, Scotland, in Burns country and within 400 yards of the ocean. It is two miles of Dundonald Castle, four miles from Troon, and 0.5 miles from of Irvine train station.

Getting there.
The best way to get to the hotel from the airport is by taxi or train. Taxis wait outside the main terminal building and cost 10 GBP to the hotel. The nearest train station is Irvine, one mile away, but it is easier and quicker to get a taxi from Prestwick train station. Shuttle buses 950 and 905 run to Glasgow city centre. Return tickets cost 5 GBP, and journey time is around 20 minutes. The fare to the city centre is about 18 GBP. Paisley Gilmour Street station is two miles from the airport, and can be reached by taxi or bus. Direct trains link Paisley Gilmour Street to Glasgow central station, the Clyde Coast, and Ayr. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around.
A car is the best way to see the Ayrshire countryside. Central Glasgow is easy to explore on foot. Reliable and frequent bus services operate throughout the city, and tickets are available on board. Night buses run from George Square after midnight. Glasgow has an underground system with 15 stations in the city. Single tickets cost 1 GBP. Taxis are also available. Prices are all subject to change.
Driving directions. From Glasgow Airport turn right onto the road to Troon and Greenock. Follow the coast road as it bends to the right, drive over the first mini roundabout. Turn left at the next large roundabout to Irvine and Greenock. Drive along the bypass for approximately 3-4 minutes and at the next roundabout, take the second turning signposted to Gailes. Drive until the first roundabout and take the first turning left. The Gailes Hotel is on the right-hand side.
