- Previously the City Hall, the Scandic Swania is a waterfront hotel built in the early 1900s and set by the Trollhätte canal in the town centre. This hotel features 196 guestrooms with modern Nordic style decor in muted colours, all of which include satellite television with pay movies, minibars, radio alarm clocks, iron and ironing boards, trouser presses, tea and coffee making facilities, and bathrooms with hair dryers. Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the indoor pool and then unwind in the sauna or bronze in the solarium. For those feeling energetic there is an exercise room; all facilities are free of charge for residents. Adults can enjoy snooker in the games room (surcharge) whilst kids are kept entertained in the playroom, and at check-in children will receive a surprise gift. Diners can sample organic Swedish specialties in the glass front restaurant while watching boats on the canal, and on Saturdays guests can enjoy drinks, dancing and karaoke at the Swania nightclub. Those arriving by car will find garage parking opposite the hotel (surcharge). The town centre shops, bars and restaurants can be reached on foot. Trollhattan Airport is five kilometres away with an approximate driving time of 10 minutes.

- A taxi from the airport to the hotel costs approximately SEK 150. Driving directions: Follow road 45 towards Trollhättan. From the roundabout at the city border, follow the 'centrum' sign. Drive straight ahead towards Gardhemsvagen. Turn right at the last street on the right, just before the bridge. The hotel is on the left, on the waterfront in the town centre.
