- Located in the Peruvian Amazon jungle, 32 kilometers from the Canopy Walkway and 48 kilometers from the Butterfly Farm, Heliconia Amazon River Lodge is an ideal destination for adventurers searching for the exotic and remote beauty of the wilds. The lodge is named for and adorned with the heliconia flower, a species world renowned for its brilliant color and exotic form. The multicultural native staff serves as guides for river excursions and jungle tours. Guests are invited to enjoy canoeing, fishing and beautiful hiking trails.
The environmentally-friendly lodge is constructed from wood and other jungle materials with mosquito netting around all public areas. An enclosed generator is used for short periods during the morning and evening hours and the lodge is lit with kerosene lamps at night. Purified water is imported from nearby Iquitos and is available at all times. The Heliconia Restaurant & Bar serves International food as well as traditional Peruvian jungle-style cuisine.
The 24 guestrooms of the single-story Heliconia Amazon River Lodge feature a rustic jungle décor and mosquito netting and shower.
