- Situated in the town of Grand Bay on Mauritius' north coast, the Veranda Hotel is a beachside property characterised by its Creole architectural style, palm trees and exotic flowers. Set in two-storey buildings and bungalows, the 94 air-conditioned guestrooms featuring light modern decor in warm tones with Creole style wood and cane furnishings, bamboo blinds and ceiling fans. All have direct-dial phones, satellite TV, hairdryers, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities and safes. Half board (breakfast and dinner) and All-Inclusive room rates are offered. Surrounded by tropical gardens, the hotel's two large circular pools offer guests the chance to relax and soak up the sunshine. Furnished in Creole style, La Baie restaurant serves international dishes and Mauritian specialities from a buffet as well as à la carte and set menus. On land there is beach volleyball, floodlit tennis, French bowls, billiards, darts and table tennis. Additional activities offered (surcharge) include scuba diving, catamaran cruises, deep sea fishing and bicycle rentals. The hotel has a beauty and hair salon (surcharge) and a gift shop. There is a late departure room with showers and a conference room. The resort centre is just a 200 metre walk and there is a casino and golf course 10 kilometres away in Trou aux Biches.
