Location.
Grand Hotel Excelsior is located in Valletta, Malta, within five kilometres of the towns of Sliema and St Julians. The archaeological sites of Vittoriosa, Cospicua, Senglea and Tarxien Temples are within three kilometres.
Hotel Features.
The hotel is set amid 15,000 square metres of landscaped gardens and is surrounded by the 16th-century bastion walls of Valletta. Perched on the edge of the sea, this 10-storey hotel offers an indoor and outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a sundeck with sun beds and umbrellas. Staff are available at the front desk to organise airport transfers, limousine service and water taxis to Sliema town.
There are five restaurants and four bars serving international, Mediterranean, Italian and Maltese dishes.

Driving Directions
From Malta International Airport (MLA):
Distance to Grand Hotel Excelsior is seven kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there.
Fixed rate taxis run between the airport and Valletta. Fares are approximately 6 MTL to the city centre. Pre-paid tickets can be purchased from the taxi desk at Arrivals. Bus number 8 runs between the airport and Valletta's main bus terminus every 20 minutes. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around.
A network of buses connects Malta to the main resorts. A day bus pass costs 1.50 MTL. A car is recommended for exploring further a field. High-speed catamarans and ferries operate between Gozo and Malta (Valletta).
Driving directions.
From Malta Airport.
Go straight across the roundabout, following the signs for Valletta.
Turn right at the second roundabout and left at the third.
At the end of the hill, turn left and then right into the main road.
Drive north towards Valletta, passing Portes des Bombes, towards Floriana and then towards Marsamxett Harbour.
Grand Hotel Excelsior is on the left hand side on the way down to the harbour.
