- The Pilot Beach Resort is located on the north-western coast of Crete, one kilometer from the pretty fishing village of Georgioupolis. Set in 150,000 square meters of grounds, the resort is surrounded by olive groves, avocado trees and a fantastic private sandy beach, stretching 400 meters. Accommodation is in quiet, spacious bungalows scattered throughout the gardens and around the swimming pools. Each consists of a large bedroom, marble bathroom, individually controlled air conditioning, two direct-dial telephones, refrigerator, satellite television and balcony or terrace. An American style buffet breakfast is served every day and guests can enjoy an impressive range of eating and drinking options. The main restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner and has views over the main pool and gardens. Jalos restaurant serves breakfast and lunch with views over the seashore pool. There is a Greek restaurant, offering typical Greek cuisine and a range of entertainment, open every evening. Even children get their own restaurant, combining evening mealtimes with fun and games under the watchful eye of the hotel's experienced staff. The lobby bar has poolside views and serves a range of teas, coffees and cocktails, together with evening entertainment. For those who like to socialise, there's the Avra cocktail bar next to the pool or the Ermis music bar. There are also two mini-markets. Not only does the hotel have a private beach, guests also have four swimming pools to choose from; two in the gardens, one by the sea and one indoors; tennis courts, mini soccer, health club with sauna, massage, hammam and aerobics. Beach activities include windsurfing, waterskiing and pedal boating. Every day the hotel's entertainment team offers a wide variety of activities from gymnastics to painting, dancing and cookery classes. For guests looking to explore the island, the public bus stops right outside the hotel.
